Volusia County, Florida
I spent years avoiding this business because of its reputation. Then I decided to be the proof it doesn't have to be that way.
I've been around Volusia County dealerships since I was twelve — including twenty years owning one. Now I help people buy a Toyota without the parts they dread.
Twenty years a dealership owner
I sat on the other side of that desk. I know how every part of it works.
Family business since 1960
My father started selling cars out of his parents' yard. Our name was on the sign — Beau Motors, then Beau Chrysler.
Local since I was twelve
DeLand first, then Daytona. This has been home for most of my life.
The short version
I didn't want this job.
My family's name was on the sign — Beau Motors in Rhode Island, Beau Chrysler in DeLand. I grew up inside those buildings and spent my early twenties trying to do anything else, because I believed the business was full of storytellers instead of truth-tellers. I went into performance parts and race cars instead. Eventually I came back, learned every department, and spent twenty years running my own store.
Somewhere in there the reason I'd stayed away became the reason I stayed. If the reputation bothered me that much, I could be the counterexample.
Start here
I owned a dealership for twenty years. Here's how this actually works.
Most of what people find stressful about buying a car isn't the negotiation — it's not knowing what's happening or why it's taking so long. I can tell you, because I ran the departments that do it.
What people ask me
Bring me the question, not the paperwork.

Don’t take my word for it
Every one of these was written by a customer on an independent platform I don’t control and can’t edit. That’s the point.

- What comes up most often: that he listens first, and asks what you need before showing you anything.
- Second most often: that he is direct about numbers rather than evasive.
- And repeatedly: customers coming back for a second and third vehicle, and sending family.
